COLOR-SHAPE MUSIC
Is a creative fun approach to teaching music to young children ages 4-12 and can be used for either PIANO or VIOLIN.
WHAT IS THE COLOR-SHAPE METHOD?
No letters or numbers are used at first. The fingers are called by colors, such as the Red Finger, the Blue Finger, etc. On paper, the colors are represented by shapes such as squares or triangles. Shapes change to traditional notation as the student progresses. Color-blind students can depend entirely on the shapes.
HOW DO KIDS LEARN WITH THE COLOR-SHAPE METHOD?
Kids learn to play by figuring out the color code. They color their books, touch the notes with the correct finger and learn to play pieces on their instrument. With the help of reading primers and computer games they learn regular music reading.
